Where are you on your journey ?

 1 – 3 years after basic degree ( MBBS)

You may be in a situation of having just completed your basic medical degree and your internship. This is a stage in your life where you are full of knowledge rearing to be let loose on the world. In general as UK training is more practice based, you might find yourself in a very difficult situation, where you might not be able to manage to the standards expected. It would be advisable to start working in a good academically oriented hospital, gaining experience, while you work towards your registration examination. This examination is required for you to be licensed and can either be the PLAB exam (preferred option) or MRCP examination. It would be very difficult to find a royal college willing to sponsor you on the MTI scheme unless you progress a good way down a career path.

You will need some further clinical experience before you embark on your postgraduate dreams.

What do I do now?

a) consider speciality options

b) ROUTE –  PLAB examination, gain clinical experience, work on exam related  studies

c) TIME PERIOD to get to UK –  24 months time

d) Accumulate capital ( Approximately  £8000 required)

e) Post to apply for  – Junior clinical fellow (F2/ CMT 1 level)
