My wife is a dentist, can she work?
Yes she can work. However she has to be registered with the general Dental council and has to pass a tough exam before she starts.
What about salary? Will my Indian experience be counted?

What are the different visas?

The visas are Tier 2 ( up to 5 years) and then move to right of indefinite stay, or Tier 5 which is limited to 2 years only.. Cannot be extended. No recourse to public funds means that you will not be eligible for state support if you run out of funds.
