Currently only medicine and allied specialties are being considered. however in the future, we may have to think of more specialties. Paediatrics and gynaecology are being considered for the future. Approximately 8 candidates are taken every year depending on vacant posts. Please remember that posts are reserved for UK and EU citizens. Candidates from outside the EU are only considered if there are no local candidates.
Funding for these posts come from medicine and the majority of your time will be spent in medicine. There will be a specialty training element as well. At junior clinical fellow level there will be exposure to inpatients in a specialty and at senior clinical fellow you will have one day to sit in or do independent specialty clinics.
